Historic Cookbook
The Boxborough Historical Society has reprinted the
Boxborough Community Cookbook in order to give a picture
of the cooking, baking, and dining habits of the 1950's.
The Boxborough Community Cookbook has its early
beginnings sometime in 1957 by the Ladies Alliance, a
group of women who met in the evening to enjoy fellowship
and earn money for the Boxborough Church. Numerous
recipes from the ladies of Boxborough were gathered,
compiled, and assembled to make the cookbook. In 1975 the
Ladies Aid Society reprinted this cookbook for the
Bicentennial Celebration. This 1998 reprinting adds
historical pictures, as well as helpful cooking hints and
a section on crafts.
